Tourist Office

Having been housed in the magnificent Art Nouveau mansion in the Place des Tilleuls, and then in the Maison du Citoyen municipal administration building for many years, the City of Andenne Tourist Office is now to be found in another outstanding building in the city centre: Le Phare.

The land, water, stone and fire have marked the history of the Andenne region, known beyond its borders for its ceramics and for the recent discovery of a Neanderthal child in the Scladina Cave.

Besides these assets, Andenne, known as the City of the Bears because of a legend about a bear that terrorised the city in the early 8th century, is brimming with other tourist attractions: outstanding heritage (old districts, collegiate church and listed Romanesque churches), Most Beautiful Village in Wallonia (Thon-Samson), Carnival plus original events, local traditions and more.

Walkers will be delighted by Andenne and its villages (Meuse and Samson Valley, Sclaigneaux nature reserve, etc.) and the paths that cross through them.

The Tourist Office team, now installed in Le Phare, welcomes visitors and provides information about the riches to be found in the region:

  • Maps: routes, IGN (national geographic institute), RAVeL (network of non-motorised paths), Saint James’ Way and the GR 575 hiking trail.
  • Information about Andenne and its villages as well as themed routes
  • Information about accommodation and restaurants, cafés, etc.
  • Activities to do alone or as a family (attractions, museums, sport, etc.)
  • Events diary
