The Andenne Library
The Andenne Library now boasts an outstanding setting amid the turquoise decoration and tiles of the Art Deco swimming pool in the city’s former École normale.
The shelves and the reading and activity spaces are distributed over two floors. The mezzanine provides a pleasant consultation area and bird’s eye of the former swimming pool.
This municipal library, which belongs to the network of public libraries, has no fewer than 40,000 works available for lending or consultation: novels, albums, documentaries, periodicals, audio books, art books and more. For convenience, these works are divided into three areas: adults, young people and children.
A fine collection of cartoons and manga is also available in this library, which pays tribute to Edouard Aidans and the region’s many comic book authors.
Finally, the library includes a large reading and working area with encyclopaedias, general and specialised dictionaries, art books available for consultation in the library, a local history collection (Grand Andenne) available for consultation upon request and a collection of works in easy French for those who are learning to read.
The library team provides a range of public reading services:
- Online catalogue

- Reading tips
- Reading and working spaces
- Home lending for senior citizens and people with reduced mobility (Livr’Emoi)
- Public writing consultant
